AI Assistants

Connect an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT to your Framebird account. The assistant can then find your content, organize Galleries, add notes and links, prepare Shares, and summarize review progress when you ask it to.

The connection uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You approve each connection in Framebird and can disconnect it at any time.

What an assistant can do

Find content: search Media, Galleries, and Shares, and list your recent Galleries and Shares.
Organize: create Galleries and Sub-Galleries, and add existing Media or Galleries to a Gallery.
Add notes and links: create note Media and save a URL as link Media.
Edit details: update allowed Media details and tags.
Publish Shares: create a Share from your content and change a limited set of its settings.
Summarize reviews: read the overall review progress of a Share.

An assistant cannot upload or delete anything, write comments, invite people, or change your account, password, plan, or billing. Do those in Framebird directly.

Connect Claude

Claude works in Claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude mobile, Cowork, and Claude Code.

Add a custom connector

In Claude.ai or Claude Desktop, open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.

Enter the Framebird URL

Enter https://api.framebird.io/mcp as the server URL. Leave the optional OAuth client fields empty.

Approve the connection

Claude opens Framebird in your browser. Sign in if needed, check the request, and choose Allow connection.

A connector you add on Claude.ai or Claude Desktop is also available in Claude mobile. If you don’t see the connector option, check your Claude plan or ask the admin of your Claude organization.

Claude Code

Add Framebird from your terminal:


claude mcp add --transport http framebird https://api.framebird.io/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code, choose framebird, and approve the connection in your browser. Framebird shows a warning because the connection returns to an app on your computer. That is expected when you just started it from Claude Code.

Connect ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, add Framebird as a custom app or connector with the server URL https://api.framebird.io/mcp and OAuth authentication. ChatGPT then opens Framebird so you can approve the connection.

Custom apps are available only on some ChatGPT plans and may need developer mode or workspace admin approval. Check ChatGPT’s settings for the current option names.

Review the connection request

Before you choose Allow connection, check the request:

App name and client ID: confirm that it names the assistant you just connected, such as claude.ai or chatgpt.com.
Destination: Framebird shows where access is sent after you allow it.
Local app warning: appears when the connection returns to an app on your device. Allow it only if you just started the connection from an app you trust.
Requested permissions: viewing your content, viewing review summaries, creating and updating content, and creating and updating public Shares.

Choose Deny if you don’t recognize the request. Nothing is connected until you allow it.

The connection belongs to the Framebird account you are signed in to. If you use more than one account, check the active account before you allow the connection.

Publishing Shares

A Share is public to anyone with its link, so the assistant confirms with you before publishing one. A new Share starts with restrictive settings:

The Share expires after 30 days.
Downloads are off.
Guest uploads are off.
Activity notifications are off.

Ask the assistant for different settings, or change them later in Framebird. The assistant can’t empty or delete a Share.

Review summaries and privacy

An assistant sees the overall review progress of a Share, such as how many responses each status received and which items need alignment. It does not see reviewer names, individual selections, or private comments.

Framebird doesn’t send the assistant passwords, file download links, or photo metadata such as EXIF. What the assistant does with the content it reads is governed by that assistant’s own terms and privacy settings.

Disconnect an assistant

Open Connected apps

Go to Settings → Connected apps. The list shows each connected app, the host it connects from, and when you connected it.

Choose Disconnect

Choose Disconnect next to the app and confirm.

The app loses access immediately. Signing out of Framebird in your browser doesn’t disconnect it, so use Connected apps when you want to stop an assistant’s access. To use it again, connect it again from the assistant.

Troubleshooting

The assistant asks you to connect again: the connection was disconnected, went unused for 30 days, or is more than a year old. Connect it again from the assistant.
“This connection request is no longer available”: the request expired or was already used. Start the connection again from the assistant.
A change failed because the content changed: someone edited the Gallery, Media, or Share at the same time. Ask the assistant to try again so it uses the latest version.
Requests fail after many quick changes: Framebird limits how many changes an assistant can make per minute. Wait a moment and try again.
